George’s connection to photography and to Nikon began early. At twelve, his late grandfather lent him a Nikon F90, and learning on film taught him exposure and light with no shortcuts. By eighteen he’d saved for a Nikon D3000, and from there his kit evolved steadily through the D7000, D810 and D5 before he made the full mirrorless move to the Nikon Z9.

The Z9 is now central to his practice: its reliability in changeable conditions, the autofocus that steadies him when wildlife appears without warning, and the file quality that rewards careful editing are all essential. His lens choices reflect a wider approach to seeing the natural world, the NIKKOR 400mm f/4.5 gives reach without excessive weight so he can move with the landscape; the NIKKOR 70–200mm f/2.8 and NIKKOR 24–70mm f/2.8 allow him to bring the surrounding environment into the frame; and the NIKKOR 135mm Plena lends an atmospheric character to closer, more contemplative portraits. Together, the Nikon Z system lets George shift between intimacy and scale with confidence.
